The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is considered the gold standard in stress reduction due to its documented success rate and evidence-based practices. Founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979, more than600 studies demonstrate the efficacy of integrating mindfulness meditation practice with conscious movements inspired in yoga and inquiry.
The MBSR is designed in a systematic way to help reduce physical and psychological suffering while enabling an attitude to meet life as it unfolds with increased resilience, focus, clarity and equanimity. The 8-week program is offered in a group setting and its rigorous nature allows participants to create a road map for a daily practice that works for them resulting in the integration of mindfulness in all aspects of their professional and personal life. Organizations who offer the MBSR program can expect their leaders and teams to work in a more focused, collaborative and optimistic environment.
